Description
Danny writes his wife after returning from church. Although he did not make communion, he plans to do so the following Sunday and lets her know that he has purchased 2 GI rosaries, one for himself and one to send to her. He remarks that he will take the letter from her which she has sealed with a kiss to bed with him. Once again he has mixed up a letter intended for her with one for his mother. On a more serious note, he shares his financial situation. He does not know with certainty when he will be paid and be able to afford sending her a package. He is disappointed that the Red Cross will not cover a private room for the baby's birth. He is trying to pull strings that will insure that he will be able to rush home right after the war. He is insistent that she quit working if sehas not already, although he tells her he does not want to "be a commander". He revisits the conversation that he wishes she would call his parents mom and dad.
