Leona's letter recounts social happenings: war inspired wedding for Jan, seeing Grace at her sister's, Bill being in Florida, shopping with her mom, etc. And, there is a lot of talk about food: Leona was going to make "nokis" for dinner; she bought a genoa salami at Primanti and is mailing half to Danny in the next package; they are about to start planting tomatoes, cabbage, peppers and hopefully strawberries. And lastly she mentions Chrysler going on strike.
