Cousin who is prisoner in Germany has requested a package. Sending clothes to "Red Cross who are sending them to Italy. It gave me the funniest feeling in my heart to think that there are people in the world that are in such great needs for food and clothing.War can sure be dreadful. Some of the peopple here have been receiving letters from Barisciano and they say that although no harm or damage was left by the Germans, everyone is very poor. Salt is 400 lire (about $4.00) a kilo and they don't even have thread to sew a button on their shirt."
