Description

Tom DiSalvo photographed himself as a model in preparation for painting this 7X9 foot canvas in which he embraces his dying mother, reversing the roles of Michelangelo’s Pietà. Rosa is enveloped in a colorful crocheted blanket similar to those she famously crafted. Tom completed this canvas in a few short months (January – March of 2011. “Rosa” is Tom DiSalvo’s 305th (and final) work of art.
