Title

March 8, 1943. Letter from Danny Badia to Leona Badia, née De Nardo

Subject

Italian-American, 1943

Description

Danny writes at 7:30 AM. He is crestfallen because Leona keeps delaying going there as she reiterated in her phone call the previous night. He mentioned how he went stag to a shop party the weekend before, although all of his co-workers were with their boyfriend or girlfriend. He asks if she will let him kiss her at the station - if and when she finally decides to come! In the same envelope is a portion of Leona's letter in response. She is asking which arrival time will be the better option, and she will let Danny decide about kissing her at the station. She talks about music in response to him having asked if she heard a certain song. She is enclosing some ashes from church with her letter because it is Ash Wednesday. She apologizes for all of the waiting she has made Danny do and asks that they make the best of it.
